Terms of Service

1. The service

OrcaMED is desktop software that converts speech to text on your own computer. A subscription grants a license to use the software on up to two (2) computers per account. The software transcribes locally; an internet connection is required only occasionally to verify your license.

2. Trials and billing

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial, limited to one trial per person and per computer. Paid subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You may cancel at any time; the software remains licensed until the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of any text you produce with OrcaMED, including reviewing transcriptions before they enter a medical record. OrcaMED is a dictation aid, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice. You agree not to share account credentials or circumvent license enforcement.

4. Privacy of dictation

Dictated audio and transcribed text are processed entirely on your computer and are never transmitted to us. See the Privacy Policy for the limited account data we do hold.

5. Warranty and liability

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months preceding a claim.

6. Termination

We may suspend accounts for non-payment, chargebacks, or violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.
